1. Purpose and Scope
This AI and Automated Decision-Making Policy explains how Storefront Labs, LLC (“Storefront”) uses and provides artificial intelligence, recommendation, content generation, classification, automation, and related technologies through the Storefront platform and connected services.
This policy supplements Storefront’s Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and other applicable agreements.
2. Covered AI Features
- language generation, summarization, drafting, classification, and assistance;
- opening-time, arrival-time, and operational predictions;
- recommendations, alerts, anomaly detection, and workflow suggestions;
- automatic publication or synchronization of business information;
- routing, prioritization, filtering, moderation, and categorization;
- location and device-derived analytics; and
- automation triggered through integrations or customer-configured rules.
3. Customer and Storefront Roles
Storefront provides tools and infrastructure. Customers determine whether, where, and how to use AI features, what data to submit, which outputs to rely upon, what actions to automate, and what human review is appropriate.
4. Inputs and Customer Data
AI features may process prompts, text, images, recordings, camera feeds, device signals, location information, business hours, customer content, metadata, integration data, and other inputs supplied or enabled by the customer.
Customers must not submit data they lack authority to use. Customers should minimize sensitive information and should not provide passwords, full payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, protected health information, biometric identifiers used for identity verification, or other highly regulated data unless expressly authorized in writing.
5. AI Outputs and Limitations
AI outputs are probabilistic and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, inconsistent, misleading, or unsuitable for a particular purpose. Similar inputs may produce different outputs.
Storefront does not represent that AI outputs are verified facts, professional advice, legally compliant, non-infringing, error-free, or appropriate for consequential decisions.
6. Human Oversight
Customers must maintain meaningful human oversight when AI outputs or automations could materially affect individuals, business operations, safety, legal rights, financial interests, employment, education, access to services, or reputation.
Appropriate oversight may include approval steps, thresholds, exception handling, audit logs, sampling, manual review, fallback procedures, and the ability to suspend or reverse automated actions.
7. Restricted and Prohibited Uses
Unless Storefront expressly agrees otherwise in writing, customers may not use Storefront AI as the sole or determinative basis for medical diagnosis, emergency dispatch, employment, credit, insurance, housing, education, law-enforcement, legal, facial-recognition, biometric-identification, military, weapons, or other high-risk decisions where failure could cause death, serious injury, unlawful discrimination, or substantial property damage.
8. Accuracy and Reliability
Storefront may use testing, validation, monitoring, thresholds, confidence measures, fallback logic, rate limits, human review, and other controls to improve performance. However, no AI model or automation is completely accurate or reliable.
Performance may vary based on lighting, camera placement, environment, connectivity, device quality, input quality, training data, third-party model behavior, configuration, language, location, and other factors.
9. Fairness and Bias
AI systems may reflect limitations or biases in training data, prompts, models, sensors, deployment environments, and customer workflows. Customers must not use the Services to unlawfully discriminate or deny individuals rights, opportunities, services, or benefits.
10. Privacy and Confidentiality
Storefront processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable Orders. Customers are responsible for required notices, consent, lawful bases, retention, access restrictions, and responses to privacy requests.
11. Third-Party AI Providers
Storefront may use third-party AI, cloud, analytics, computer-vision, or model providers to deliver certain features. Those providers may process customer inputs and outputs as subprocessors or independent service providers, depending on the feature and contractual arrangement.
12. Security and Abuse Prevention
Storefront may use access controls, logging, rate limits, content filtering, prompt restrictions, moderation, anomaly detection, monitoring, and other safeguards to reduce misuse and protect systems. Storefront may suspend, limit, or disable AI features where reasonably necessary to address security, legal, abuse, safety, or operational risks.
13. Transparency and Disclosure
Customers should disclose the use of AI-generated or materially AI-assisted content when required by law, platform rules, professional standards, or context. Customers must not falsely represent AI-generated content as human-authored, independently verified, or professionally reviewed when that representation would be misleading.
14. Monitoring and Improvement
Storefront may monitor feature performance, errors, abuse signals, model outputs, customer feedback, and system telemetry to maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services. Where permitted by contract and law, Storefront may use de-identified, aggregated, or otherwise appropriately protected information to improve reliability and product performance.
15. Customer Controls
| Control | Recommended Customer Practice |
|---|---|
| Feature Enablement | Enable only features appropriate to the business need and risk. |
| Permissions | Limit access to authorized personnel and review user roles regularly. |
| Data Minimization | Submit only information reasonably necessary for the intended task. |
| Human Review | Require approval before consequential publication or action. |
| Automation Safeguards | Use limits, thresholds, exceptions, and rollback procedures. |
| Testing | Test outputs and workflows before production deployment. |
| Monitoring | Review logs, errors, anomalies, and customer complaints. |
| Retention | Apply appropriate retention and deletion settings. |
16. Responsibility and Liability
Customers are responsible for determining whether AI features are suitable for their use case and for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and third-party requirements.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AI and automated features are provided subject to the disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnities, and risk allocations in the applicable Storefront agreement.
17. Changes to This Policy
Storefront may update this policy as its products, models, providers, legal obligations, and risk-management practices evolve. The current version will be identified by its effective date.
