1. Purpose and Scope
These Trademark Usage Guidelines explain when and how third parties may refer to or use the names, logos, product names, service names, screenshots, trade dress, and other brand assets of Storefront Labs, LLC (“Storefront”).
These Guidelines apply to Customers, Authorized Users, partners, resellers, developers, vendors, media organizations, consultants, and other third parties.
2. Relationship to Other Documents
If these Guidelines conflict with an executed trademark license or written brand approval, the executed writing controls for the approved use.
3. Ownership of Storefront Marks
Storefront uses the following names, logos, product names, service names, taglines, icons, trade dress, and visual identity. These are currently unregistered marks. Storefront claims only the rights and related goodwill that may exist under applicable law, including rights associated with:
- Storefront Labs;
- Storefront;
- Storefront Works;
- Storefront product and feature names;
- Storefront logos, icons, and design elements; and
- other marks identified by Storefront from time to time.
Permitted use of a Storefront mark does not transfer any rights Storefront may hold or create rights beyond the limited permission expressly granted.
4. Limited Permission
Where Storefront expressly permits use of a Storefront mark, that permission is:
- non-exclusive;
- limited to the approved purpose, context, territory, channel, and duration;
- non-transferable and non-sublicensable;
- revocable at any time; and
- subject to these Guidelines and any additional written instructions.
Storefront may require prior review, approval, correction, or discontinuation of any proposed or existing use.
5. Approved Uses
Subject to these Guidelines and any required written approval, permitted uses may include:
- truthfully identifying Storefront as a technology provider, integration, vendor, partner, or service used by a business;
- displaying an approved partner or integration badge;
- linking to Storefront’s website;
- using approved Storefront screenshots or product images for editorial, training, implementation, or integration purposes; and
- referring to Storefront products in accurate compatibility or integration statements.
All references must be accurate, current, and not misleading.
6. Nominative References
A third party may generally use Storefront’s word marks in plain text solely to identify Storefront or a genuine Storefront product, provided that the use:
- is truthful and necessary to identify Storefront;
- does not use more of the mark than reasonably necessary;
- does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, certification, exclusivity, or affiliation;
- does not use Storefront’s logo without authorization; and
- does not disparage Storefront or damage the goodwill associated with its marks.
7. Logo and Visual Asset Rules
Approved logos and visual assets must be used exactly as provided by Storefront.
You may not:
- change colors, typography, proportions, spacing, orientation, or design;
- crop, distort, stretch, rotate, animate, outline, recolor, or add effects;
- place a logo on a visually confusing or low-contrast background;
- combine Storefront marks with another logo, symbol, badge, or name;
- create derivative logos, icons, mascots, or brand assets;
- recreate a Storefront logo using AI, design tools, or another font; or
- use outdated or unofficial brand files.
8. Prohibited Uses
You may not use Storefront marks:
- in a manner that is false, misleading, deceptive, defamatory, obscene, or unlawful;
- to suggest Storefront sponsors, certifies, endorses, or guarantees a third party without written approval;
- as the dominant feature of another party’s product, service, website, application, event, or campaign;
- in connection with counterfeit, infringing, unsafe, illegal, or unauthorized products or services;
- in source identifiers, metadata, keywords, hidden text, or search-engine manipulation intended to divert users;
- in AI-generated brand identities, synthetic logos, or confusingly similar branding;
- to imitate Storefront’s trade dress, website, application, packaging, or visual style;
- in merchandise, promotional products, or physical signage without approval; or
- after Storefront requests discontinuation.
9. Domains, Handles, and Advertising
Without Storefront’s prior written approval, you may not register or use any Storefront mark or confusingly similar term in:
- domain names or subdomains;
- social-media usernames, handles, page names, or community names;
- application names, package names, extensions, plugins, or marketplace listings;
- company, product, service, or event names;
- paid-search keywords or advertisements that imply affiliation; or
- email addresses or sender identities.
Storefront may require transfer, cancellation, or modification of unauthorized registrations to the extent permitted by law or contract.
10. Partner and Reseller Use
Partners and resellers may use Storefront marks only during an active, authorized relationship and only for approved activities.
Any approved third-party use must comply with the applicable written authorization and brand instructions.
Partners may not:
- describe themselves as an exclusive, certified, official, or authorized partner unless Storefront has expressly granted that designation;
- make unapproved claims about pricing, features, legal compliance, uptime, security, AI, performance, or future products;
- use Storefront marks to promote competing offerings; or
- continue using Storefront marks after suspension or termination.
11. Customer References, Testimonials, and Case Studies
Customers may accurately state that they use Storefront, provided the reference does not imply endorsement or sponsorship.
Use of Storefront’s logo, quotes attributed to Storefront, joint case studies, customer stories, testimonials, or co-branded materials requires prior written approval unless an executed agreement expressly permits the use.
Storefront may request correction or removal of inaccurate, outdated, or misleading references.
12. Screenshots and Product Images
Screenshots and product images may be used only where authorized and must:
- accurately represent the current product or clearly identify an older version;
- avoid exposing customer data, credentials, personal information, or confidential functionality;
- not be altered in a way that misrepresents the product;
- not imply features, availability, or performance that Storefront has not confirmed; and
- include attribution where Storefront requests it.
13. Press Releases and Publicity
Press releases, public announcements, launch statements, event promotions, investor materials, and public descriptions of a partnership, integration, reseller relationship, or customer relationship require Storefront’s prior written approval unless an executed agreement states otherwise.
Approval of one announcement does not approve future or modified announcements.
14. Termination of Permission
Storefront may revoke trademark permission at any time where reasonably necessary to protect its marks, reputation, customers, legal rights, or business interests.
Upon expiration, suspension, termination, or written request, the user must promptly:
- stop using the affected Storefront marks;
- remove logos, badges, screenshots, and brand assets from websites, applications, advertising, presentations, and social media;
- discontinue confusingly similar branding;
- destroy or return physical marketing materials where requested; and
- confirm compliance if Storefront reasonably requests it.
15. Enforcement and Reporting
Storefront may investigate suspected misuse and take action including:
- requesting correction or removal;
- revoking permissions;
- suspending or terminating accounts or partner status;
- submitting platform, registrar, marketplace, or advertising complaints;
- pursuing legal remedies; and
- seeking recovery of damages, profits, costs, and attorneys’ fees where permitted.
Suspected misuse of Storefront marks may be reported to hello@storefrontworks.com.
Copyright claims should be submitted under the DMCA Copyright Policy & Takedown Procedure.
16. Changes to These Guidelines
Storefront may update these Guidelines prospectively as its brands, products, partnerships, and legal requirements evolve. The current version will be identified by its effective date.
